The Eye Clinic Västerbotten provides specialist healthcare in the field of eye diseases in Västerbotten and the northern region. We are located at the county's three hospitals in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele. We are a university clinic with large patient flows that care for patients of all ages, from newborns and up. We continuously work on development and improvement efforts to achieve good quality and satisfied patients. Approximately 135 employees work with us, including ophthalmologists, ophthalmic nurses, operating room nurses, medical secretaries, nursing assistants, orthoptists, and optometrists. We are now looking for a medical secretary in Umeå!

Within the clinic's writing section in Umeå, an engaged team of mixed ages currently works with one section leader, 9 medical secretaries, one executive assistant, and one clinic assistant. You will join a workgroup that collaborates closely both within the secretary group and with other professional categories. We have an open and permissive climate, and having fun at work is something we prioritize.

As an employee with us, you will receive an individual introduction program where you can gradually gain insight into the various parts and routines of the work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a medical secretary with us, you provide important service and enable efforts that affect many. You function as a spider in the web regarding administrative work at the reception.

Your tasks will include medical documentation, mail handling, and booking and calling patients; telephone appointment scheduling may also be relevant. The clinic consists of many different sections, so your work will be varied, and you will work closely with other staff categories. Patient contact and service are ongoing elements of the work. We regularly work on quality and improvement efforts within the clinic, and we would like you to participate in these.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained medical secretary or healthcare administrator. Previous administrative experience may be an advantage.

You have a positive and service-oriented attitude and enjoy providing support and administrative assistance to others. Since you will have many points of contact and work closely with others, you need to be attentive and have good collaboration skills. As we focus heavily on quality and improvement work, it is important that you find changes to be developmental and that you have an interest in everyday development work. Both tasks and work pace can vary, so to thrive with us, you should enjoy variety and have the ability to take initiative.
